Unfortunately, NHL 94 Rewind is not available for individual purchase. ![]() However, what’s in the game should be enough for any hockey fan to pick up, especially if they were into old school games. There is no option to do an actual full NHL season in the NHL 94 style or make any trades. You can play in the “Regular Season” exhibition mode, a single elimination playoff, a best of seven playoff or a shootout mode. This adds a degree or realism to the game even the modern incarnations can’t touch. This is true even if you are playing in Regular Season mode. If you wait long enough, the game will show brief highlights of certain games and update the scores accordingly. ![]() One little nifty thing about NHL 94 is the ticker that comes up between periods showing the scores of any simulated games being played at the same time in the league. If you don’t like multi-tasking, making line changes automatic or turning them off is the best option, You can also decide whether you want the computer to cycle in fresh players intermittently for you, you want to do the line changes yourself or you want to stick with the same players without changing lines at all. You can also get offsides called during games unless you turn that off. Be careful, you can get called for penalties if you turned them on. You can knock opponents down on defense or steal the puck using these controls too. The game play is very simplistic and easy to pick up, You can shoot and pass with passes handled by the X button and Circle doing the shooting.
